Correlation between asbestos, smoking and lung cancer

21 June, 2013, (http://www.kamagrarx.net/): Cancer is a disease caused by uncontrolled cell growth. Lung cancer which was the area of research and study released that it is caused due to excessive long-term exposure to tobacco smoke. Approximately 80-90% of it is caused due to exposure to it. Smoking, particularly of cigarettes, is the contributor to lung cancer. For those who are non-smokers t

he inhalation of smoke from another smoking causes these.

A recent study released has drawn a link between the asbestos exposure and smoking. This is responsible for asbestos lung cancer. People smoking cigarettes developed a high risk of cancer as compared to those who were exposed to asbestos. Asbestos is a group of fibrous materials used in fireproofing, building materials and insulation. Exposure to asbestos leads to lung cancer and causes a potentially fatal lung disease called asbestosis.

Asbestos contains fine particles which pollutes the air and water and causes serious illness. The study examined the medical records of workers who are exposed to asbestos for long-term and those whose occupation does not involve exposure to asbestos. The data showed that combination of smoking and exposure to asbestos had a higher chance of developing cancer than those who dint smoke and didn’t have long-term exposure to asbestos.

One possibility was also recognized by medical science that asbestos-linked diseases are notoriously hard to diagnose. The common respiratory symptoms like difficulty in breathing, excess mucus production, fatigue and chest pains, persistent coughs are symptoms of bronchitis, pneumonia, allergies and asthma and are also symptoms of asbestosis. Because of this, it is difficult to understand the full illness having being diagnosed.

The study also found a correlation between quitting smoking and a decrease in risk of developing. Those who stopped smoking for a decade – even those afflicted with asbestosis were able to cut their chances of developing in half.
