Revisiting the Land of Ranches and Cowboys

Texas has always been associated with ranches and gun-toting cowboys. Not many people are aware of the fact that Texas has a lot more to offer than what we know. For example, one small city in the Bailey County is a good place to go to if you would like to know more about ranching and the wildlife. That city is the city of Muleshoe.

The city of Muleshoe is known for being the location of

the National Mule Memorial, also known as the Ole Pete. It was unveiled to the public on July 4, 1965 and has, ever since, been one of Muleshoe’s most popular tourist attractions. This does not, however, mean that there is not much going on in this Texan city. In fact, Muleshoe is also able to offer The Muleshoe Heritage Center which is dedicated to the spreading of information about the history of ranching. This museum features a number of unique buildings, each one depicting the life of ranchers during the late 19th century. It is also worthwhile to drop by the Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge, a refuge founded in 1935 and is considered to be the oldest that can be found in the state of Texas. For quite some time now, the said refuge has played the home of migratory waterfowl as well as sandhill cranes. If you are looking for a place for a day of family bonding, you might also want to consider the water park recently opened within the New City Park.

It features a number of areas such as the soccer and softball field, a playground, a fishing pond, and basketball courts.

With so many sights to see and so many things to do, you would most likely need more than a day in order to fully appreciate Muleshoe. This means, you would need to have yourself booked at any of the motels in Muleshoe TX. One such hotel in Muleshoe TX that you might want to consider is the heritage House Inn.

The Heritage House Inn is located right within the heart of Muleshoe, Texas. It offers guests with a number of amenities such as internet access, access to picnic and barbecue area, use of satellite LCD TV, and continental breakfast. Guests are also allowed to bring in their pets. Parking of trucks and bus should also not be a problem.
